I’m going old school on this one. 1984 is amazing and terrifying. I can’t imagine what Orwell would think about the Western media if he could see it today. Everyone should read this book.

Cheating a little for this one – Ezra and Kady split up at the beginning of this book. It does seem like the end of the world for them, until their planet actually is destroyed and gives them some perspective.
