This week I’m using On the Come Up by Angie Thomas.

Excerpt: Sometimes I dream that I’m drowning. It’s always in a big blue ocean that’s too deep for me to see the bottom. But I tell myself I’m not going to die no matter how much water gets into my lungs or how deep I sink, I’m not going to die. Because I say so.

Thoughts: I can’t believe I haven’t read this one yet, I need to push it up my TBR. Bri, our main character sounds so fierce and determined, I really want to read her story.
